Just throwing this out there, since I have not looked into it...

My local machine shop did some driveshaft-related work for me recently, and they suggested looking for a u-joint kit that would fit the STI driveshaft. The owner said that there should be something that will work with the wide variety of cars on the road these days. The one that came with my swap had some serious flat spots in the u-joints. It would most likely require some machining, and the old u-joints would have to be pressed out, but in the end you would have an STI driveshaft with ungraded, changeable u-joints.

This may not be possible due to the lack of available replacement u-joints, but evidently it is common on a lot of other types of cars with non-serviceable u-joints. Seems like it is worth a look, no?
