You'll be fine on inner clearance with the 17x9 +42 and 245/40-17. I used to run 245/40-17 on a 17x8.5 +48 offset and had plenty of inner clearance.

Those Nexen tires are garbage. Junk. Crap. Get something better. If you're trying to stay cheap, and those offerings from wheeldude are you're only choices, at least go with the Hankook V12
