You can achieve the EPA numbers, but not if your average speed is 70mph+
Is your complaint that the EPA numbers for the Impreza are misleading, or that your driving style does not achieve them?

That mpg site is lame. As aeoporta said, there are many things that affect mpg - not the least of which is aerodynamics, which disproves your mpg site all by itself.
I get over my EPA numbers at 80 mph on a flat two way run with no wind in my Corolla. (With Amsoil and Tufoil though...)
