i've done some searching already, and read a lot. there are pros and cons:
pros:
keeps more heat in pre-turbo exhaust section, improving spool
keeps more heat out of engine compartment, improving longevity of rubber/plastic, decreasing heat soak of IC
less chance of burning the **** out of yourself while under the hood
cons:
bit of a pita to install
costs money
can lead to premature death of exhaust piping, esp. cast iron like the oem subie manifold due to rusting
can lead to cracking of piping from greater thermal stresses
i'm leaning toward doing it while i do UP and DP and EGT install. anyone care to comment on the pros and cons above?
