I still don't know where Solistik got his numbers. I'm not aware of any diesel engine that can provide 50 MPG combined while also delivering 350 ft-lb of torque. That's an engine that would make me swoon. Sounds like a fantasy to me, at least with today's technology. Maybe that will be possible in 5 or 10 years....

Best case would be some sort or performance diesel hybrid to get that power/economy balance. Don't think one exists today, though
