well, you MUST NOT use driving pattern lights with your lowbeams.

You CAN use Fog pattern lights with highbeams, but it only cuts your contrast for things in the distance since your foreground (right in front of your car) will be so much brighter than in the distance.

I highly recommend just getting a set of FF1000 Driving lamps to be used with your hibeams only. Then, if you actually need foglamps, you can't beat the Hella Micro DE Fog, which is small enough that you can mount it in your bumper and it would be very unobtrusive.
