This is a what if post, hoping a dealer is reading this and can comment.
What if, in a case like yours, after a dealer has tried and failed at an attempt to fix a problem that is obviously detrimental to the car's resale, and as noted the car performs fine, the dealer does the following:
Doesn't give you a set of wheels and tires, tint, etc...
Does give you a new car, fixes the paint on the other car and wholesales or sells that car on the used lot?
Dealer then (or before) leans on the manufacturer to cover/split the cost difference.
My guess is that the difference between wholesale and dealer cost is less than $5k, no negative publicity, and more customers.
Am I missing something?
