I would tell them to reconsider- taking off the snorkle/airbox has nothing to do w/ fuel leaks. I would politely remind them that a fuel leak in the area of the manifold could be a potentially dangerous situation. If they still refuse, contact SOA and have them intervene.

I can't imagine anyone not wanting to correct a potentially dangerous situation- if for no other reason than liability sakes.
