HTML Interface Developer

As our HTML Interface Developer, you will:
  • Write clean HTML and CSS following best practices and standards
  • Test and troubleshoot your code for cross platform/cross browser compatibility
  • Translate design mockups into working HTML documents
  • Coordinate with producers and project managers to determine project requirements
  • Work with QA department to address and fix issues
  • Maintain translation database for international websites

Your qualifications include:
  • Understand templating languages and how HTML and CSS fit within; understanding basic programming loops, conditionals, variables and functions
  • Strive for full CSS compliance, but understand that sometimes tables are absolutely necessary
  • Able to juggle multiple projects with changing deadlines

Languages:
  • CSS (Expert): must be able to create clean (as close to) table-less layouts using mostly CSS for presentation with minimal HTML
  • HTML (Expert): Must know how to troubleshoot legacy table based layouts
    javascript: (Advanced/Expert): must be able to validate a form, manipulate
  • CSS via the DOM, hand-code from scratch
  • Perl (Basic): Should be able to reference variables, basic looping
  • SQL (Basic): Familiarity, able to read, write and execute simple query statements (select, insert and update)

Applications/Programs:
  • PhotoShop (Intermediate): Ability to manipulate and optimize graphics
  • FTP (Intermediate): Ability to navigate file structures, upload and download files

Skills:
  • Skills to integrate HTML/CSS front ends with backend systems -- i.e. Experience integrating front-end pages to server-side technologies such as ASP or PHP
  • Understanding of Web Accessibility and Standards Compliance User Interface/User Interaction experience
  • Solid cross-platform and cross-browser development experience.
    Familiarity with Unix environment (can navigate file system as well as find files using a terminal window)
  • Experience with or exposure to CVS or other file management system
