Gene- sorry for the lack of response. I had an autocross event yesterday and I'm basically just now getting back on the computer.

I'm not so sure your plan would work, at least while the cluster was still in the car. The whole cluster is not hard to take out, and only a little harder to put back in. I don't think you could get all the air and water bubbles out while the unit was installed in the car. Cutting a slit may work, but then you'd have to be careful about getting glue-type residue on the pointer while you install the overlay, or bending the shaft. It's worth considering, at least. That would be for you to decide when you get ahold of what you want and get to take a look at it.

Also, in regards to how the clusters look at night. I was looking at them on the way to work this morning, and they are not as beige as they look in my picture. I think if they had black numbers on them, instead of the lit up green numbers, they would look more white. It's almost like the bright green numbers mess up the contrast or something, like an optical illusion. I wouldn't want them bright white anyway. It could detract from my night vision looking outside the car.

Mark- did you doublecheck to make sure you got all the connecters back on. There was four total on mine. I had one on the back- in the center, one on the top left-hand side, and two on the top right-hand side. Maybe you missed one or it's just loose. That seems odd that neither your speedo or tach are doing anything. As for the fuel and temp gauges, I just set those back on where they were and they work fine. I was pretty low on fuel when I did mine, and then filled it up right afterwards to check the full level. My temp gauge starts off cold and then sits right where it used to at operating temperature. I must've messed up my tach a little on my own, and somehow I missed the zero setting on the speedometer. I'll get back in there within a day or two and try to correct it (while my wife is at work ).

I know a lot of people were a little disappointed, but I like the way they look. Nice and clean. I suppose I should take a picture standing outside the drivers door looking in towards them to give a longer-range picture, to give the general effect.
