This plan is already doomed to failure. GM wants to put a 4G modem in all of their cars in hopes that you'll pay GM a monthly fee to connect to the Internet where you'll have the privilege of paying to use their crummy ad-supported content.
The other guys are letting people plug in their smartphones and using that to power their car connectivity systems. Who in their right mind is going to pay a phone bill and a GM car internet bill per month?

Honda factory navigation systems already come with the Zagat guide and the Hondalink system on the new Accord comes with Yelp. I would rather have that then a GM ad system which directs me to "Fred's Shell and Subway on Exit 34" and "Barstow Station McDonald's."
