Yeah, I guess the extra layer couldnt hurt, I see in the mags some of these guys putting 3,4 even 6 layers. Thats gotta be overkill not to mention all that weight. After putting a layer on the doors I was pretty impressed, and I didnt even do the whole door, just pieces cut to fit over all the openings. The mass of the product does enough to deaden the metal around it even if its not completely covered. I know, at this point its funny that I would skimp for weight savings puposes. But before buying the RAAMmat in bulk I was trying to get the most out of the dynamat as possible cause its so damned expensive. However, I was able to stretch both front doors and the trunk lid out of a dynamt door kit. So if your looking to sound deaden and not add too much weight it is possible.
