What you are saying makes sense but I used my old 5MT transmission mount and the 5MT cross member as well. The transmission is completely installed in the car utilizing all 5MT mounting hardware. I hadn't yet bought a 6MT mount and was putting the tranny in the car so I thought I would take a couple of measurements while I had both trannys on the floor to see what the differences were in the mounts. So I measured from the end that mates with the back of the block to the holes where the tranny mount bolts go on and the measurements were the same on both trannys. I installed the 6MT and fit the mount and cross member up to the car and all the bolt holes lined up so I just bolted it all up and called it a night.
