yeah voltmeter will work fine, a multimeter is a voltmeter that has other functions but the only thing you need to see is if you are getting voltage and if so, how much. better find out what the correct voltage into the coilpack should be so you dont think its ok if it gets the incorrect voltage. If you are not firmiliar with using a voltmeter its easy, just make sure you ground one of the leads coming from the voltmeter and probe the coilpack power-in wire with the other. The crank angle sensor controls injector timing? i am asking as i have no idea. good luck, let us know what you find.
