BTW, I ALMOST did that. The oil pan that I have is huge, and is a container style. Well on my first oil change, I un-pluged the center hole and shoved the pan underneath. Good thing I laid there to wathc it drain. The oil level was rising fast. I realized what I had done. I did not pop the top off the air release on the edge of the container! The shallow of the pan was filling rapidly. I was very close to haveing a tarmac driveway! And that is when I was still living on base houseing. They would have killed me if I had made a mess there. Like I said. Live and learn.

Oh and I have gone from dino to synthetics and do not burn a drop with 11,000 miles. Not that my young car is that great a test case anyway.....
