I have done one of the extremes in engine break in/oil change intervals. I changed my oil at
215 miles , and put in Mobil 1 synthetic.
Then I changed my oil
again at 998 miles, this time using Amsoil 10W-40.
There are many schools of thought (read: highly biased opinions) about proper break in and oil changes. If my motor blows up or consumes more oil than gas because the miraculously slippery synthetic oil didn't allow my engine to break in, I'll keep you posted.
