it seems to me like a lot of the OG GD owners like the new look and would consider buying it if the production model looks similar and performance numbers are good. but, it looks as if subaru is focusing more on the driving aspect rather than power numbers with the wider wheel base, carbon fiber roof, lowering the height, etc... (if all these features make it to the production model). so my question is; what if hp/tq was LOWER or the same as GRs but the 'driving experience' was much better a la FRS/BRZ, would you be in favor of that or rather have 350bhp?
Everyone knows what the engine is going to be already. They use it in Japan on the Legacy and here on the BRZ (NA version) and 14 Forester XT. It's a turbo 2.0 that puts out 250hp/250tq in the Forester. I would suspect the WRX to be a bit more powerful, but no one knows yet. Those of you wishing for forged internals and 350hp are dreaming, but the good news is that the new motor seems to be quite strong.

As for this new WRX, it's a concept car ... the production version will not have a carbon roof, and will look a bit different. I suspect the car will look similar to the concept since it's been so well received, just not exactly the same because it would be impossible to pass safety tests and such.

It's a no-brainer that this new WRX will be focused on "driving experience", and likely be a strong performer all around. But it looks to me that Subaru is focusing more on paved tracks, and not Rally, on this new car with it's low and wide profile.
