I called GA Monday morning and told them the piece they installed last Friday was distorted. Without hesitation, she overnighted a new piece, a Pilkington, and the installer came today (Tuesday) and put in the new piece. No charge, no trouble, no fuss. In fact, I mentioned to the installer that I'm doing some maintenance soon (timing belt, UP and DP install, etc.) and he offered to help me and use his shop and tools, as I live in an apartment with no garage.
I think the point of this, and you can read into it what you want beyond what I type here, is that if everybody only returned items in an honest manner, we'd rarely have to worry about getting screwed or hassled by retailers and installers. The reason people do get screwed and hassled is because of all the people that return items in a dishonest manner or try to manipulate return policies, warranties, insurance, etc. to their benefit.
