The i*Pike W409's are pretty good bang for the buck. I'm on my 2nd winter with them coming from Gislaved Nord*Frost 5's and Viking SnowTech's prior to this set and I'd say they're really good for what they are.
All I can say though is since we've had more of a mild winter as far as snowfall goes in the past 2 years that, I should have saved myself some money by going with the W300 since they're a harder compound and better for driving on roads without snow but still sub-zero temperatures. Basically, it will just last longer than the softer but better performing snow tire, W409.
