Question Question about getting an oil cooler

I'm thinking about installing one on my car. The JDM motor I have likes to run hot, and once it's at running temps, my oil pressure at idle is less than desired (about 15 psi). I'm wondering if an oil cooler would help keep the viscosity up, and wondering if it would damage anything, as someone suggested on another forum. As some other people on here probably know, JDM swaps can become very costly very quickly, and I'm concerned about doing every little thing I can to increase the longevity of the motor. So would installing one of these be a good or bad idea ? I don't do much racing right now, but plan to in the future.
