doesnt mean much without knowing what suspension hes on. or what size tires he wants.
the 17x9 +35 255/40 setup you linked likely works "ok" because hes on a mildly dropped stiff spring. but i bet he rubs when he hits a huge bump.
i have a 17x9 +44 that are used in the summer. with 245/40/17 tires (slight stretch) it still rubbed with Konis and RCE blacks and needed a rear roll. even with the camber at -2*.
17x9 +42/+45 is a great fitment, and sure it fits better than a +35 for obvious reasons, but that doesnt automatically mean its a non-issue type fitment. it still might require camber, or a roll, or both, depending on suspension specifics.
