It should feel faster than your stage I WRX. It's 300 lbs lighter, making another 30+chp and has shorter gearing.
My gutt tells me that this is just the standard V Limited from 1995, which is not a bad thing. 1996 paperwork suggests that it was first registered in 1996, which is totally feasible since it was a limited edition that carried a premium price and may have sat on a car lot for a while. But the only way to tell is to get us the vin or even better, the chassis plate from the driver's strut tower.
Chassis code GC8C48D will be a V-limited. GC8C4DD will be a V2 STI-RA V-limited.
