When the car comes stock, everything is hooked up to the airbox. This gives it a constant vaccum. I just basically put it back to stock. The one way valves (PCVs) make sure that air goes only one way. Also, somebody said that the crankcase and the valve covers share the same space. If this is the case, and you have the valve covers open to atmosphere, you loose your vaccuum. Somebody said something about "not loosing enogh vaccum when leaving these valve covers open".... There is no such thing as partial vaccum. Either you have a vaccum or you dont.

I should try disconnecting the 2nd PCV valve to see if the car starts smoking again.

I'm getting my catchcan today, and I will be putting it right after the second PCV. If any oil is gonna go through the intake, it will go to the catchcan first.....
