I spect the tire, If it's a crack or tear or even a bulge with a tiny leak I wouldn't drive on it. I'm not sure what the exact specs are but there is a limit of distance and speed you are supposed to stay under with a spare. I'm sure the Subaru manual will tell you everything you need to know about the spare..

You can fill the tire up and put water or even spit on questionable spots of the tire and it will make noise when you find the leak.
