The prices on their site reflect the change in manufacturing process. Instead of making everything in-house, they are farming it out to places to be made which means much higher quality parts, and I even heard something about ceramic coating on the up and downtubes in the kits as well. Basically when the switch occours, they'll be able to walk over and pull a kit off the shelf and send that day instead of making you wait 4-6 weeks for it to all be hand-made.
