It is stuff like this (and the GOTO GT-R) that will eventually start to limit participation in these types of events. Same effect that the 917-30 had on CAN-AM. The crazier these cars become and the faster they go; the more you limit the partipation that you will ultimately see because it will become too time and cost consuming.

This era now is probably going to be referred to as the "golden" era of Unlimited TA cars, so enjoy it while you can.

I guess my only point is it would be nice to see these teams use a bit of restraint so that they don't ruin it for the low budget joe shmo teams.
I see where you're coming from on this, and agree to an extent, but I will point out that unlike some other motorsport series, the lower rung classes (Modified and Street) are arguably just as competitive as the top level Unlimited.

That being said, I do think it very well could be at the point where costs will be spiralling up and the level of competition is too high for many to be even close to achieving. I guess we'll just have to see what happens. Even in these tough economic times, the fields haven't dropped too much, so maybe when everyone has jobs again there'll be an enormous field of crazy TA cars at each event, in all classes.

As for the car: Chris Rado is and has been a very forward thinking innovator for some time. I remember one of his TC drag cars was outlawed for a couple things that were gray areas in the rule books, but were deemed illegal. I think he proved last year with his impressive runs in the TC that a fwd car can do some serious damage, and I have no doubt that once this car is dialed in it'll turn even more heads.

Anyone know if he's still working on the awd TC?
