Yeah, it did take some gonads. My buddy claimed that Amsoil oil, WITH their filter could last like 20k + miles, even had a warranty or something. It might be a bit different using a genuine OEM filter though. Not sure.
The key for me though was the oil report showing how good (or bad) my oil was when I changed it. With them claiming it still showed good properties and I could even extend the mileage if I chose, gave me confidence I could keep going 10-12k between changes. I'll send off another sample to confirm that interval wasnt some fluke.
