I'm running an 06 5-speed NA Baja - only 28k miles in the 2 1/2 years I've had her so far.
I've noted on all of our vehicles that the crap oxygenated fuel/E10 we get here near Philly hurts mileage.
So I didn't think much of it that for more than 2 years I only got about 22 mpg in mixed conditions, with a peak mileage of maybe 26 mpg on an occassional roadtrip.
At least I DIDN'T think anything of it until, on a whim, I removed the crossbars a couple of tankfuls ago. And BAMN EVERY SINGLE TANKFUL since then has shown a 3 mpg increase. Still mixed, mostly backroad not highway conditions - 25 mpg. I'm interested what a highway run for a full tank would show.
Just thought I'd mention that as something to consider for anyone who wants to see if they can get a few mpg more out of their Baja.
