It's the American way. Starbucks doesn't serve coffee, they serve coffee flavored non-carbonated soft drinks. Try getting a regular (black) coffee from starbucks. They always make it bitter. My guess is because it doesn't matter how it is brewed because 98% of the people who go there load it up with sugar and cream.
