Wayde Segawa at WorldOne in Seattle built my motor. I also think Ron at Axis Racing in St. Louis is great to work with.

I think your right but I am looking for someone who has built some of these motors but are not a huge company with huge company overhead that they add to their labor rates....

The difference in price would be negligible at best. You get what you pay for.

Words to live by when it comes to things of the sort. If they're that good, they charge BECAUSE they are that good.

I highly doubt it, but it sounds like that isn't the path he wants to take. If it were me, that would not be my preference either.

good companies hire the good mech.'s,. while big companies hire the rest. be smart, or learn and do it yourself to be 100% sure what you're getting.

i've built many engines(and motors) and i know what it takes. i would only let 3 maybe four other people i know work on my stuff. dealerships have too much turnaround and wouldn't be even my third choice. but thats just me! --keith

ohio. and they are my friends, my brother and my dad. my friend jeff is an aircraft mech.(continental), brother is a GM tech/service manager(fred martin), and old man(our shop) that is TEH man! im unskoold by the masses, but i can find my way around pretty alright. at this point my brother and jeff are the only ones that would consider doing anything for outside individuals. we are about to purchase an AWD dyno also, so ohio may be back on the map so to speak. but i'd have to put a bug in their ear to see if they are interested. --keith

Big, small, who cares. You are buying a service. Engine building is not rocket science, but it requires someone who is very disciplined and tests (measures) everything that goes into the block. My recommendations are based on my experience with those builders and my gleening of the experience of others who have recieved service from them.

Keep away from the cavalier engine builders (not the Chevy).

i had my engine built by PDXTuning. they did pistons only due to the fact that i personly didnt feel i needed anything more for my power goals.

they did the motor, pistons, meth injection, clutch, UTEK over the COBB, GT30r w/.82 housing and a bunch of minor things in a total of 8 days.
