Default i-pod and stock STi radio

i have an i-pod and bought an adapter to play it in my car. the adapter i bought plays over an open FM radio band. however, the volume is so low. when i play the i-pod straight to my speakers at home or though the ear phones the volume is fine. i know this is an i-pod question as much as a radio question...but i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so, is there a work-around or a way to fix it. i can't seem to find a way to re-record my i-pod tunes at a higher volume level--i assume this is because the music is digitally recorded to the i-pod...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Rich

Change your head unit to one that has an aux in or will interface directly with a docking station to your ipod that shows display info on the head unit display and also powers your ipod.
