Question Attn: Crazy KEN - ??? about rear suspension stuff

Crazy KEN, my silver-Legacy-drivin' brotha! (Us silver types gotta stick together, ya know? )

Please tell me about the CUSCO rear camber plates, lower tie bar, and rear strut tower brace. Did all that stuff go on together, or one piece at a time? How much difference does the rear STB and lower tie bar make? How much of an increase in NVH is there with the rear camber plates? I'm under the impression the rear plates in particular can be pretty damn noisy, I think because they're inside the shell of the car with you.

Thanks for the feedback, man.

Cool

Whatzzup Pat,

For some odd reason the Cusco RSB could not go in...I tried from the trunk...I tried from the back seat...I tried using the instructions for the Imprezas...nothing worked, so I returned it!!! The rear tie bar doesn't make a noticable improvement, but the FR & RR swaybar linkage, and anti-lifting castor kit helped tremendously...The rear adj. camber plate is not installed yet...I waiting to get the front adj camber plates, H & R springs, and my new Volk Racing SE37k 17x7.5 with Toyo T1-S AFTER winter is over...EVERYTHING IS ON ORDER NOW!!! hehehe ...Haven't heard that the camber plates made noise, makes me wonder!!! I need the H&R springs, because my Eibach aren't stiff enough...for some odd reason I keep on bottoming out when I turn my wheel while hitting a bump or entering a driveway or enterance that has a decline or incline ;( ...I tried using 2FR,4RR - 3FR,6RR - 4FR,8RR...all settings bottom out...especially the stiffest seting (i.e. the one I like the most) ...1FR,2RR is hard to bottom out, but **** , it's almost like OEM Shocks, but a little stiffer!!!

Sorry if I dissappointed you, but keep in touch...I got new pics of current modes coming soon...It will include:

Bel Vector LR Radar detector
-Front and Rear laser sensors mounted in the front and rear windshields
-Hood mounted Ka, K, & X band sensor
-Display/control module mounted in driver side ashtray (!!!COOL!!!****!!!)

Mesh front grill and hood scoop (i.e. removed front subaru emblem)

Push engine start switch...instead of turning the key

removed all emblems and badges...OH by the way, when I removed the "Legacy" badge in the rear there are two holes...IS THERE ANY AFTERMARKET BADGE I CAN PUT THERE TO COVER THE HOLES OR DO I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE BODY SHOP??? Hoping there is a metal or hard plastic or carbon fiber emblem that I can put on top of it!!!

Thanks for the post,

CRAZY KEN

That's a bummer about the rear STB and the lower tie bar. Oh well, money I just saved I guess.

From the sound of it, I would guess one of your struts is bad. I've never heard anyone else relate a similar problem. I'm on an Open Track emailing list and recently someone brought up that some tuning company was putting various shocks/struts on the shock dyno just to compare numbers (Koni vs Bilstein vs Tokico, etc). Well, it turned out that as many as 30% of the pieces were out of tolerance brand new out of the box! I think you might have one of those 30%.

I'm afraid I don't have any clever suggestions for filling the holes left by the LEGACY badge. That definitely sucks. Maybe you could use the holes for an oil nozzle and a smoke screen nozzle for when you're trying to make a quick getaway from the coppers.

Sounds like you've got all sorts of cool stuff in the works. I look forward to seeing how the car turns out, in particular the grille and hood scoop.
