Thumbs down Bill Kolb Jr. Subaru - Orangeburg, NY

Just don't go there. I don't even know where to start with them. The sales person I dealt with was the only good thing about my experience with them. And when it comes down to it, he's just a middle man.

Throughout the deal I was treated poorly.

This could really be a Stephen King length novel so...

1. The paper work which was to be all set for my signatures when I arrived was riddled with "fuzzy math". Every one of the numbers on every document, was incorrect, including the odometer reading that was on my extended warranty they got me. Essentially stealing 1000 miles off the warranty right of the bat.

2. They were getting me PA plates, no big deal right? Wrong, ask my manager at work. I spent 7 out of 8 hours of my workday, dealing with the absolute worst people I have ever dealt with jsut trying to make sure that I had plates before my temp tag expired. (two temp tags and whole days on the phone later I finally got them)

3. The right out lied to me and then tried to cover it up by saying they had no idea they were lying.

UGH!! Just for the love of God, Allah, Budda, whoever! Just don't put yourself through the agony of dealing with anyone at this dealership.

Okay one last note, I test drove the car in Dec 2000, and decided I wanted it shortly after. I was originally going to pick the car up before the new year, the dealer pressed hard for this to happen. However with an impending blizzard on it's way to the area, I told them that there was no way I was going to drive 4+ hours there to pick up my car and then drive back 4+ hours in a blinding snow storm. They laughed and "oh come on the Beauty of AWD"!! Yeah great, my first drive in the car in 2 feet of snow on roads I don't know. Not to mention the person driving me up there to pick the car up does NOT have AWD. They got pissed off.

Man, it's almost been a year and I still get enraged

Just don't do it.

Peace,
Oqui

Default Unsettled Business

Here is the PM I sent you ealier this week, as I have yet to receive a response, I figured that you may be unfamiliar with PM's, so here is the message I had sent:

Maryann,

I appreciate that you have decided that your dealership wants to become number one in sales, service and customer relations. I've read your posts on this forum and although it seems your intentions may be honest, I wonder how you can blame the previous owner for problems that people have been having with your dealership's customer relations, sales and service within the last 5 years? Inlcuding my ordeal.

I purchased my Legacy from your dealership in January 2001, and if you've read my posts regarding Bill Kolb Jr. Subaru, you'd notice that the only positive outcome of my experience was that I was positively not going to do business with your dealership again.

As one of your employees pointed out in a recent response to complaints about Bill Kolb Subaru, my case was apparently a memorable one for your business as well.

I'm sending you this message as a courtesy. You wanted people with unpleasant experiences to contact you and explain their case. I'd be more than willing to speak with you, but what good would that do?

I sincerely don't see what your dealership could do to win my business again, but I present you with the opportunity to try.

Please note that my two cents have been aired out on these forums and I will not "flame" your dealership in future posts.

I will, however, offer when asked that my one and only experience with your dealership was far less than "Stellar".

If you do wish to follow up with each unsatisfied customer, you can reply to this message and supply contact information and a best time to call.

Sincerely,
Aristides (Oquipah)

Default Confusing Service Dept

So my girlfriend who bought her 2004 Impreza a few months ago gets swiped by some jackass on the way home one night...no real damage to the car except what looked like some nasty scratches on the door to the car. My girl is brining the car in for an oil change so she told the service dept about the scratch and they said they'd give an estimate.

So she brings it in and they call her a few hours later to let her know they cant do anything about the scratch cause they dont do body work (which is what I thought in the first place). So my girl is super pissed

BUT...we go to pick the car up and lo and behold the scratch is gone ...one of the guys at the shop buffed the heck out of it

So now we're mad at the service dept for making us mad at them. but we're happy cause they did it at no extra charge

Hi Maryann.

I picked up my new Forester on Monday (Feb. 7th.) There was a problem with the remote starter I asked to have installed (talk to Brian from Model Electronics when you get the chance to avoid this kind of problem in the future. Basically your salesmen know nothing about this product.) I came back to the showroom on Wednesday and both Stuart, our salesman (who was always as nice as can be), and Marty (another nice guy) were off. I spoke with your sales manger Bruce and tried to explain things to him. If Bruce was any less interested he would have been asleep. He didn't make me feel like he cared about my problem. He wouldn't give me any straight answers even to direct questions. I felt like he was taking the 5th amendment. He hardly spoke to me. To his credit, he did call down Brian from Model Electronics to fix the problem. Brian was terrific. But it was Bruce's condescending attitude which made me feel totally humiliated. I will never recommend any of my friends or family to buy from your dealership. In fact, I have a friend who just put a deposit on a new car. I'm telling her about my bad experience.

And after reading the many negative reports about your dealership on this forum I guess I shouldn't be surprised by my treatment.

Thumbs down bill kolb subaru sucks NY

I purchased a wrx from them. I was told that it had all these parts. which it had only a few of which I was told. like 3 inch exhaust. it had a 2.5 borla. I was told they would fix the scratch and dings. they did pretty much nothing. They didnt give me floor mats, the stock wheels, interior piece, manual and who knows what else. Iv had to go there multiply times for no reason. They seem to have a problem calling me back. It must be really hard to make a 2 sec call. please beware.

This is from an email I just received from Bill Kolb:

To all who were interested or are interested, The Impreza WRX STI in Rally Blue has arrived! We have one currently available at $34,995! It will be a first come, first serve basis.

How thoughtful of them!

Well duh! I bought my 98 Legacy there. They like to ignore you and practice fuzzy math.

NEVER...repeat NEVER deal with them. Please I speak from first hand experience. They are shady in every sense. And yes they took the floor mats out of the car...reason given, "oh they were dirty, you didn't want them".

Stupid!!

Peace,

I was thinking of purchasing a used car from them, they have really good pricing on some 2002 Subaru Legacies. I was just wondering what's the general consensus of this dealer? Are they reputable or any problems with them?

I just bought my WRX from them 3 months ago ..... So far I have had no problems with them. My windshield was scratched during a tint install so I brought it to the dealership and showed them... They replaced it under warranty. That saved me a few hundred $. Then my steering wheel had a little gash in it and I showed it to them and they replaced that under warranty too. So, so far they have been the best dealership I have done business with.

So many mixed thoughts abouth Bill Kolb Jr. Some people like them, some people don't. I guess it all depends on the situation, car being purchased, and the sales person.

Have you considered the age of some of the threads you are bumping?

There is a good chance they were good back in 02/03 but something changed in 04/05/06............
