Default Cobb Tuning CAI MPG challenge

well, I went to a Rally Cross over the weekend, got my filter FILTHY.... filled up the tank, and just re filled it.

21.4 MPG.

I have now cleaned my filter and I'm gonna see what kinda mileage I get on a CLEAN filter.

Post some numbers if you got them

Yo Panzer1939; those are the exact bolt-ons I am planning for my 2.5 (except I'm waiting on the new Brullen headers). Do you have any 1/4 mile times with that set-up? Estimated fhp/whp?

Bankheist; love to see the mileage difference. What else can be done to our cars to imrove mileage?

-syntheric oil (lets the mechanical parts move freer)
-something that can regulate the A/F ratio better than the stock ECU
-Not racing your engine constantly... BIG gas consumer
-There's a few other things... I'm sure someone will post them.

I'll post the MPG difference this weekend when I fill up again.

My filter was filthy too! When I washed it, I had dirt comming our of it for a good 10 minutes under the sink!

BTW... that setup for an NA car.. should yield mid 14s... start lightening roational mass.. like the flywheel

I don't have any 1/4 mile times yet, but I beat a Grand Prix GTP by a good bit in a race to 110mph before I backed off. I'd say high 14's or so. The cams make the biggest differance.

OK well I've now gone through two tanks of gas with a clean filter.

The first tank I complete SUCKED the gas... I was riding high on the enjoyment factor.

Next tank I drove like my normal self (which, if you know me, I still drive pretty hard) I turned in a MPG of 22.51

An expected result.

I'm sure the results would be even better if I didnt drive hard all the time.

21.4 MPG filthy
22.5 MPG clean

I just filled up and reset the trip, I'll post another MPG in 2 or 3 days.
