Is it possible to determine Phase 1/2 block from VIN?
Just as the title says, is it possible to determine whether an engine has a phase 1 or 2 block from the VIN.
Thanks, Jason |

Not that I know of, but if you have a '97 Legacy 2.5GT you have the phase 1 block. The Phase II came about at the end of the '98 Impreza/Forester production run, but didn't apper in the Legacy's until MY00 IIRC. Here is a thread on identifying your block.
