Need help Please

Hi all,

I have a 2004 rs with the single din factory radio. Its cd player broke so I upgraded to a new Alpine unit mp3/wma all that. But with the Alpine I cant seem to get radio stations when i let it seek. I checked antenna and it is plugged into the alpine adapter no problems.

Any suggestions on what could be causing this bad reception? The radio just will not find a station using DX or local seek.

Final question. Will a double din radio from a 2005 or older sti/wrx fit the 2004 rs?

I think my first post states that the antenna is hooked up correctly ---"white wire". Ive had numerous techs look at it and they see nothing wrong with the install.

Any other bright ideas from you so called specialists. lol joking. Thanks for the Noob Alert but I am a little past that point.

Your first post sounded like you just plugged in the antenna like every other car. You didn't say anything about hooking up the white wire.

Only other common problem I know of is some kinds of window tint can affect reception. And any double din radio will fit your car. You just remove the din pocket and the existing HU and install the double din.

I am sorry for the somewhat lacking post. I guess that was a Noob post then. 1000 apologies. I was actually talking about the Antenna wire (white)and not the coaxial cable.

I found out that metallicized(sp) tint kills AM reception on my S4 (Bose system) So I figured it would do the same on the scoob since both have the antenna in the rear window. FM should be fine. But no tint in the scoob.

I just threw in that double din question since I was already posting, just as a backup noob question.
