Default FS Cincinnati: Brullen 3" TBE

This is another takeoff from my 2003 Bugeye. I put this on right before I went to TurboXS for my dyno run back in the Spring of 2003.

System description:

* Full stainless steel
* 3" from the downpipe back
* Downpipe (bellmouth) has been ceramic coated and is bunged for a wideband O2 sensor
* Includes both high flow cat and race pipe
* Twin tip muffler looks almost stock, but the tips are a bit larger
* Fit is very good
* Sound is on the loud side, but not over the top

Here are a couple of pictures of the rear of the car with the muffler installed:

And here is a movie of the car on the TurboXS dyno so you can hear the exhaust throughout the rev range. This was 93 octane so about 260 WHP.

I would like to avoid shipping this so local pickup somewhere in the Cincinnati or surrounding area (100 mile radius) is preferred.

Price: $450 OBO

I can take some pictures of the system uninstalled once I get back in town.

I'm thinking very seriously about calling dibs. Looking forward to seeing your pics. I've got a mostly Stromung tbe which I'm gonna need to think about selling...most likely after I purchase yours.

Would you be willing to meet halfway? Like maybe Indy or somewhere east of Indy?

Sorry about the delay on the pix; it was so damned cold this weekend that I couldn't get out to clean the exhaust up for photos.

I had to check to see where Bloomington was, but yeah I could meet you at Greensburg. That looks about halfway. I used to race bicycles at Brown County State Park a few lifetimes ago. I can still remember the pain. :-)

Pictures as promised. It was still too cold to clean anything up so take these as absolute worst case. I literally pried them off the icy patio. The whole system used to have black hi-heat paint on it like the muffler, but it burned off over time. The downpipe started life as a rough textured OD green due to the ceramic coating.

Muffler

Midpipe with resonator

Downpipe (O2 sensor hole shown just aft of the turbo flange)

Race pipe and cat

Sonic, let me have a day to think about it. Price is good and I'm happy that you're willing to meet halfway. I'm just a little concerned about it's condition.

Understood. Used exhausts are not pretty things, but this one will clean up quite a bit. I literally did not touch a thing to make it look better for the pictures.

That's 3 1/2 years of cooked on dirt and tar. Stainless exhausts do not stay shiny for long after install. I don't think 304 is corrosion resistant forever, but it should outlast the car.

You are correct. The misconception I see commonly is that stainless steel will not rust. If you think of it as steel that "stains less" you will be much closer to reality. And the hotter it gets, the quicker it rusts.

Mitch,

I believe you've got a deal, though I'm not certain when I'll be able to arrange to meet you. Will you accept payment now and then we can plan something later?

Sure, that's fine with me. I will PM you my address (for money order) and Paypal if you prefer it that way.

Not me. I had it down at Edgewater for Import Days a few years ago to see what it would do. That's about it.
