Default Anyone know about rims?

I have a set of 18.5" rims and around hard turns going fast it hits the wheel well. Anyone know if 17" rims will keep it from doing that if not what size?

wtf? 18.5? please in detail tell us exactly what rims you have (brand, offset, width) and what tires you have (brand, and complete size).

Sounds like you're better off not even owning a car.

Well it rubs because 1) They're too MF'in wide, and 2) you should research before you buy rims for your car so you don't have that problem.

those wheels are too big

go back to stock size 17x8 and 225/45/17 (corrected for 2005 model)

sell those 18's to some dubster

yeah just look in the classifieds and get a stock set and you will be ok.
and you should find out what else was put on your car. Might be helpful for later...

You guys are brutal man, just because someone doesn't know something doesn't mean they are not deserving of help. I'd rather see someone ask a dumb question than see guys posting BS that they know nothing about (what this forum is mostly full of).

Anyways, zach_24, can you read on the outside of your tire what the tire size is? It could be something like 225/40R18. If you can get that number that would help. A picture of the wheels would help as well or if you have a brand.

Without knowing the size it is hard to say what would fit. You could have too large a tire size for the offset/width of the wheel but without having more info we can't recommend the proper sizing.

wtf!!! 18.5

that being said. why dont you post some pics. what tires and size? this you must know. suspension?

stock is 17x8. if they are 18x8.5 that could work, lots of sti's with that.

Yeah, you guys are being pretty harsh. He's obviously a complete newb, and could actaully use our help, not ridicule. It's like my mother who just got her first computer last year. I was trying to teach her how to delete files, and she didn't know what "right click" was. People are newbs about everything at some point.

The good suggestions above were to read the tire size, and pictures would help a lot. If you're serious about just switching, these threads should help:
