Question Annapolis-area folks: Looking for hotel suggestions for the meet!

Hey guys. Christine and I are coming down to the Annapolis Subaru meet, probably Friday morning to stay the day/night at a hotel.

Looking for recommendations, since neither of us have ever been there. We want to do the hotel thing, and I thought some folks here could help out. Looking for something relatively easy to get to, that's kinda close to the dealership.

Is any of this going to be close/accessible to downtown?

Price... hmm... We don't want a roach motel, something nice would be good, but not north of $150 for sure. We're low-maintenance folks.

EDIT: Oh! Preferably something with free high-speed internet, if you know already. If not, we can call the hotel. Drives me crazy, that so many hotels still charge for that!

-Chris

No, the idea is to come down the morning before, hang out about town, stay overnight, go home after the meet. We have to be somewhere at 4:30pm on Saturday, but the meet only goes until like 2pm anyway. So that works.

We like to venture around, but don't have any plan, really. Just gonna freewheel it. Maybe find a cool restaurant or two, so suggestions for that are welcome as well.

It really depends on where you want to stay. There are really no hotels within 'walking' distance, though there are a few within a couple minutes drive. If you want to stay out side of Annapolis itself, there is Country Inn Suites which is across from Best Buy near the Annapolis Mall. It's about 5 minutes from Annapolis Subaru. Closer to the mall there is Wyndham Gardens Hotel (410-266-3131), and down on the water there is Marriott Waterfront for a little more luxury. And there are a slew of B&B's all around/in Annapolis.

All three hotels I listed, I've had folks stay in and they are all nice with 'common' hotel ammenities that folks are used to.

Good luck.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions. My wife and I will probably look into them, tonight.

Doesn't need to be driving distance, since we'd likely check out to go to the meet, anyway. We have to leave right after it's over, too. Like I said, I'm not sure if Subaru is close to downtown, so... I guess it'd be cool to walk out of the hotel and check out the town for a few hours. If I have to drive a few minutes or more to get the dealer, so long as it isn't painstaking to find, that'd be cool.

Annapolis Subaru is away from 'down town.' The Marriott is the best hotel for getting out and walking around downtown shops, restarunts, and the water front. And the drive from there would be about 15 minutes to Annapolis Subaru. It's also a simple drive to get to Route 50 which ties to I-97 North, which ties to I95 north for you.

Splurge, yes.

Be stupid, no.

I don't mind paying a little extra for a room, but I never pay that much for a room unless it's a really serious vacation.

FYI, just booked at the Sheraton. Looked at a ton of hotels, but this one had most of the things we like, at a pretty good price. More than we usually spend, but what the heck, it's a mini-vacation.

It's not downtown, but it's in the shopping area, so I'm sure my wife won't mind.

Thanks for the help!
