Default So I got this in my email last week...

Quote:
hello,
I work for the advertising agency that handles BF Goodrich, we are interested in a shot of your website. It would possibly be used for a BFG DVD for the launch of a new tire (it is not important that you have BFG’s on your car, it is the photo & the feel)
Please let me know if this is of interest to you.
Feel free to email me or call.
thanks

The advertising company is called The Martin Agency, based in Virgina and they've done a few national ad campaigns including "Virginia is for Lovers," the Geico mascot, and the UPS "Brown." They were interested in some of the snow pictures I had with the STI. So after corresponding back and forth (during a Canucks game) and sending them images so they could do mock up and show "the client"....

...I found out this morning that BFG decided to look for another car make .

Oh, well, at least they noticed my web page .

Too bad it didn't work out, but like you said it's nice that they noticed.
Unlike Tire Rack's winter ads, in which they stole a pic of a Nasioc member's silver STi in the snow. They used those ads all winter, without even a thanks to the guy who owns the car and took the pic!

Yeah, the contact person said they had "a budget" so it sounded legit. In the back of my mind though, I couldn't help but wonder if they just said they weren't interested after I sent them the high-res versions. If it's not a national campaign and I don't see a copy of the DVD, how would I know?

I have clearly stated that the pictures are copyrighted for non-profit use, so if they were to use it, maybe I could sue them . (crosses-fingers)

as the photographer you have the rights to the image, if you didnt sign the rights to them they legally cant publish the pic.
if they do, make them your bitch!!

Actually hypa, that was Discount Tire not Tire Rack

Tire Rack wouldn't stoop to that level

should put your name in center lightly or something when sending highres, but theres next time

hopefully theyll use it and you'll get some money out of it!

i was once in a whistler/blackcomb commercial, (which played for two winter seasons) and i didnt even know about it until i was watching tv one day, and i was like, "wtf, that ME!!!"
there were random people in the snowboard park one day filming everyone, but i didnt think much of it and did my thing.. i was told they are allowed to do that legally, but w/e, it was kinda cool watching myself on tv for their commercial
