Default Squeaking noies when clutch pedal is fully released help!!

Well the noise comes when I am idling at a stop. If I touch the clutch pedal the noise goes away. If I play with the pedal I can make the noise get a little louder, and then if I push a but more, I can make it go away. I am thinking that its the throw out bearing, but I am not an expert. If anyone can give me any help I would really appreciate it.

FYI I have a 99 Impreza RS, 53,000 miles, Manual Tranny, just changed the tranny oil, but the noise happned before I changed it. Original stock clutch, no slipping at all. Still feels very good, smooth engagement, and smooth clutch feel.

Definitely throwout bearing noise. Although sometimes the grease on the pivot ball for the throwout fork dries out and will cause the same noise, as the bearing and pressure plate are always touching somewhat. Hope this helps.

Well thats ok, do you think its going to be covered by the 60,000 drivetrain warrenty? Or is it a wear part that wears out and is not covered by warrenty. Thanx for any help, and the help you have given already.

Good chance this will be covered by warranty-as it is a bearing problem, but i can't give you 100% assurance without looking at the warranty guide. You should try calling your local dealer and asking first, but i'll try to remember and post back on wednesday when i return to work.

Have a great Christmas!
