Default Raise it up!!!

I know that there's a company that has a body lift for the outback, I found 'em on the net. I was just wondering if anyone here has raised one. I'd like only an extra inch. Also, If I go with a SLIGHTLY bigger tire, is there a way to readjust the speedo?!?

I don't have any answers for you, but just wanted to send a hearty thumbs up. In an Impreza world gone mad, where the second question (after "How can I get 350 horsepower from my WRX?") is "How low can I drop my car?"

And you want to raise it! Hats off, my man. I raised my WRX wagon a bit for the snowy season, too. It sounds like you're seeking something permanent, though.

I think the taller springs are called the "Scorpion Kit". Try a search for that or look at rally Web sites.

www.autocaresubaru.com (isr performance) sells a lift kit for the Outback. cruise around the site and you'll find it.

That's in the right direction, but I don't want it to look too much like those old amc 4x4 cars. What were they called?!? Anyway, I think if it were just a half inch with slightly taller tires to fill the wheel wells, it would look great. Yeah, I'd seen the isr website and was just wondering if anyone has actually done it yet. I know they have legacy photos on the sight but I wanted to get some user feedback too... I like the idea of checking ralley sites, though...

My parents had an AMC Eagle back in NW Pennsylvania. My mom drove it back and forth to work and my dad drove it way back into the woods to work on the oil wells. The AWD unit had a pneumatic switch that would lock the center diffy and with LSD rear it was pretty much a go anywhere vehicle. I've recently retraced some of the old woods roads that my dad used, only this time in an '01 OB and the outcome was pretty much the same - A 1/2" of mud everywhere on the car and some pretty deep ruts in and back out again. The Eagle didn't have the finesse of the OB but it sure got the job done. And yes, it was the first Sport Utility Wagon.

Best, Dale

The one thing I did remember was that the Eagle felt spindly and top heavy because of its "lifted" suspension. I'd keep that in mind when you are looking for ways to lift your vehicle. That last thing you'd want to lose is the solid, buttoned down feel that is a Subaru trademark. DT
