ya, i dont have it...but i've heard about this.
i'd say, take it out...put it inside for a few days and let all the condensation out....then, maybe seal it with some silicon? i don't really know what's causing it, and i have no idea how this pod is designed on the inside....is it the gauges fogging up? if so, the try sealing those....i'm really not sure though. |

Try this - don't know if it will work, but does with headlamps.
Take out the guage, remove the backlight bulb. Get a hairdryer, turn it on high... stick the guage in the heat for like 15 mins... put bulb back, guage back, and see if that helps. |

Yep, it happens to my during cold nights as well. It goes away after like 10 - 15 min of driving. I usually just put my palm to the lens (to warm it up) and the fog clears if I don't want to wait.

Its common because of the condensation that builds up with the cooling temps. The boost gauge is attached to the engine by way of a vacume hose.
The Exhaust has the same type of condensation build up too. I've known a few people that have installed Filters from fish tanks to stop the needle vibration while at vacume. Wonder if it would help the condesation too. I've got a VDO also and have this same problem But I'm not concerned about it as my car sits in a garage a lot. ![]() ![]() Last edited by RS ING; 01-05-2002 at 09:12 AM. |
