I wanted to get an aftermarket exhaust. I called a few exhaust/muffler places around here to ask how much it would cost for the install, welding of an exhaust. They told me that it would be illegal to do anything with the RS because of all the various sensors. Is it true that there are many sensors? What can I do about this. If you get a header, midpipe, and muffler- what trouble can you run into and how does this interfere with any catalyc converter(s). Please help me out guys. What have you guys done or run into.

I don't know about illegal, but from what I do know most of the exhaust products made specifically for the Impreza RS should be an easy install. Mostly bolt on stuff. And for the sensors the better manufacturers, if not most, will have direct mounts for your oxygen sensor.
So if you buy the right stuff it should be easy (relatively). Steve |
