Default Stage 2,... doing its job

I just flashed to stage 2 and went to the track immediately after doing so,.... Here are my times and mods

Best run,...

60ft 2.0508
1/8 8.9859 @ 77.60
1/4 13.9631 @ 98.61mph

Car 02 wrx 90K miles

Mods,...
Cobb CAI (not cause its cool but by necessity. No intake when I bought the car!)
AP ver 2.0 Stage 2 map reflashed with NO learning curve
Invidia DP wrapped in DEI heat wrap and siliconed
Still running STOCK CBE

I think it was around 70 degrees last night and kinda humid for OCTOBER

I am happy I broke into the 13's with the minimum Stage 2 Mods. The rest of my exhaust(CBE), Pulleys and intercooler hoses will likely go on this week....

Thoughts?

Drop your 60' a bit and it should help your times.

Default dropping 60' times

You say dropping 60ft. times is a good way to get overall times down. I agree but am not sure how at this point. Perhaps it is just a matter of launch practice? It seems like I am getting a good launch. Dumping the clutch faster seems to burn the clutch. I have been to the track for 3 weeks in a row now with the following results,...making 6-8 runs each time
Week 1 stock best ET 14.82
Week 2 Stg 1 best ET 14.36
Week 3 Stg 2 best ET 13.96

I must note that I do have a small preturbo (most likely uppipe) leak that is costing me about 1 psi. I plan on getting it fixed when I either get a header or get PnP/coated manifolds with bigger crosspipe(grimmspeed) in a few weeks. I know thats another can of worms with the PnP or Header debate.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Default Cobb CAI

Yeah typically the Cobb is a HAI (Hot Air Intake right>?). Short Ram stubby heat sucker. I had another cheapo intake around and cut it all up and made sections to put the air cleaner in the fender well. Isolating it from the engine compartment completely with sheetmetal his week...

laser, what was the best time you ever got on a stock car ? you say week one best... but have you even beaten that time ? I hit a 14.7 in my 04 wrx (also stock) but I'm still unhappy. My best 60' time is 2.086.... im having the same dilema about how to squeeze an extra tenth or 2 out of it.

Default sideway

Hey Sideways look at my 2nd post carefully.

Been to the track 3 times now,... the only time I was Stock was week 1 and my best was 14.8 ET in the 1/4mile. I had lots of 15 second runs but the best was 14.8 . And Yes I have beaten that now but my car was stage 1 and now stage 2 so not much comparison because of the power difference

I'd have someone who you know is fast drive your car and see what happens. A stock 06 should hid 13.9 or better, and a stage two can be low 13s or 12.9 if done right.

oops my bad...I have my threads messed up. Still, you should easily be into the 13s with stage 2.
