Default Tire size when using JDM trans on GC8?

I know the USDM GCs need a 215/45-17 tire as a plus one on RSs. JDM cars however ran a 205/50-16 stock which would be approximately a 215/40-17. If I am using an out of the bow complete JDM WRX transmission/ECU in my swap, do I need to run the JDM tire size or the USDM one? I am still using the USDM gauge cluster BTW.

The speedo gear is in the tranny, so my guess is that you'd want to use the JDM sizing. That assumes, of course, that the JDM speedo gear is different than the USDM speedo gear to account for the ~3% difference in tire size.
