Default How do you remove aftermarket camber (eccentric) bolts?

So I got some camber bolts installed in the rear to allow me to correct my alignment after getting P1 springs. This was a few months ago, and now I need to take them out to put in my RCE coilovers. Seems easy enough right?

I don't know if I am missing something, but for some reason, I can not get the camber bolt out. I have rotated it in small increments while pounding on one side with a rubber mallet. It doesn't move more than 1/4" out, yet will still spin freely.

I'm sure it has to be lined up juuuust right to slip it through, but so far I have had no luck.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Derek

I just had the same problem. I unscrewed the nut enough and got a 9 inch ratchet extension, hit the hell out of it... no budge. I ended up get unscreweing the bolt. I slowly came out, and the threads seem fine. I only have to unscrew enough to get to the eccentric part, then it came out fairly easy.

Yeah I have the nut all the way off and have hit it and rotate it over and over. Nothing. Just stops after a 1/4" and wont go any further. I know its probably stuck on the eccentric portion, but I don't know how to tell where it would line up.

yeah the cam of the bolt is probably catching on the inside edge of the strut, make sure you loosen the other strut bolt so the knuckle is free to slip a little - else it may never 'line up'
