do you drive the car hard? Accellerate hard off the line often? I drive some what spirited, and I generally squeeze around 210-230miles on 12galons. All city driving with maybe a few dozen miles done on freeway out of that 210-230.

If the tire pressures are good then I would check the SR to make sure all is hooked up correctly then my next guess would be that you have a lead foot. listening to the sweet sounds of the intake
considering you drive mainly in the city

that's really low... I drive pretty much all city, often pretty spirited, and still get 20mpg (and it's a WRX)

I'd bring it in and have it checked.

Yeah, I just checked, a 2.5i has 15.9 gallon capacity, same as 02-05 wrx.

But still, 180 miles out of 12 gallons sucks.

With my old tired 2.2L with 200K miles, I get about 375 to a best of 429 per tank...15.9gal tank. I could probably do better....anyone every tried any of the hyper mileage tricks? I've been driving about 60mph on the freeway lately just to see what I can do. I'll have the car loaded up to go from San Diego to San Francisco this weekend, about 300lbs of gear and 2 x 200lbs guys

Had a bit of racing between tanks, but coming down from San Francisco this weekend to San Diego with a completely full car (front/back seats and trunk full of gear) and all-season tires.

405 miles, 13.5 gallons = 30mpg.

Had a good time, my codriver kicked some butt--
