OK. So I was daydreaming again, and had an idea. It's similar to what companies do with their products to produce 360 degree rotatable image for their website.
If we put a camera on a tripod and take photos of a car from multiple angles, while using a tarp or something similar as a backdrop, we should be able to make some nice images of our cars that we can drop on the website. I discussed this with a couple of other people, and we came up with more. How about we set up mutiple disposable cameras in a ring around a car, and hook them all together. Then we can throw something over the car (such as water from a sprinkler) and take photos from multiple angles simultaneously. Much like the camerawork pioneered by "The Matrix". It shouldn't be that expensive. Again, we would need tarps as a360 degree backdrop, and cut holes for the cameras, but I bet we could do this fairly cheaply. |

I like the idea and you should be able to get similar results from a few (3 or 4) web cams and a morph program. Then it's already digitized and you can mess with it as much as you'd like.
I saw some stuff that a film student did in his dorm room like this and it was very good. He used the web-cams and one of the morph programs that are available on the net. Not sure on his OS, coulda been Linux. |

Sounds good! How about a fresh snowfall on a......lets say white car or black then throwing spaghetti on it. Gets that artistic look especialy when its kinda warm so it steams when it lands on sumthin. I get the idea but still can't picture it.

Sounds like a lot of work, but let me know how I could help. It sounds like it would be a cool project.

Spaghetti?
Who's gonna ante-up there car to get covered with some Fettucini Alfredo? Or how about some Lasagne? What about Ramen noodles? ![]() It shouldn't be that hard to do, though. I think it would be a fun project for the summer. |

Both the digital and disposable ideas sound interesting. Keep us posted on any new developments.

Next time we have a meet and I am feeling better, I am going to make everyone sign an agreement that they will park better.
Next time I am going to assign a few parking lot directors (any volunteers??), and we will try and line up all the cars, to be able to get some good pics. Last meet I was not too worried about it, since the cars were all filthy, and I for one was not too worried about taking pics of the cars! But next time....they will be good pictures, with all the cars lined up perfectly! Kris |

Someone here said something very valuable... You need to know when to drive fast and when to drive slow. I try not to tailgate big trucks because of rocks and I don't follow too closely when the roads are wet. Actually, I left early so I could use come of that dri-wash before everyone arrived. I couldn't believe Luis toweling off his car with all the dirt on it. I couldn't watch and I failed to tell him to stop. Sorry, Luis. When's the photo?
