I have a 2003 wrx (2.0 obviously). However, I have an oil pan off of a 2.5 liter to accomodate my headers. At any rate, I am wondering if I should put the same amount of oil in the 2.5 oil pan that I had previously put in the 2.0. Thanks!

What I would do is find out the amount of oil it takes on a 2.5L and the 2.0L and take the average of the 2.

What year & model is the 2.5 pan from?
Most likely it holds the same amount as your 2.0 did. You can also go by the dipstick.... |

The only thing I changed was the oil pan. The dipstick and pickup are the same. I guess I will just find out the amount of oil it takes to fill the 2.5 oil pan. And I thought all the 2.5 wrx oil pans from 06-07 were the same...

I looked up the parts on www.subarugenuineparts.com for 2003 Impreza WRX. pan 02-05 $66.93 pickup 96-05 $23.27 baffle 95-05 $16.45 Then for the 06 WRX pan 04-07 $79.27 pickup 06-07 $19.08 baffle 06-07 $7.83 From this it looks like the baffle and pickup are different too. I couldn't find the dipstick on there, and the oil pan doesn't seem to be listed correctly for the 06. I think they are listing the STi pan. I would do a little more research before you start the car with the new pan. I'd go to the dealer and check the parts for sure including the dipstick. |

the 2.0L oil pan superceeds to the new style oil pan. I know because im about to change mine. There are no parts bulletiens stating any other parts are needed to upgrade, though im changing the pick up tube as well.
